Happy Anniversary!

Today is our 1 year anniversary! It has gone by fast, but it has been the most wonderful year of my life. Tyler means so much to me. I am so glad that we were set up on a blind date to meet each other and then finally date and get married. He is everything to me. I love being with him. I changed my schedule for work and school so I can be with him more. I hate hardly seeing him. It isn't fun at all. He is amazing and so wonderful. He makes me smile every time I see him. I don't know what I did to deserve him, but I am so glad we are with each other. I am looking forward to more wonderful years with him.

New Hair!!! again :)

Yes, we have more new hair, but this time it is me :) I helped my stylist out today. She teaches a class at Bon Losee and I offered to give her a hand. It was weird being a model, but fun to learn some hair techniques too. I wish I could do that kind of stuff. I wish I could learn just the basics and not go to school for it because I am so ready to be done, but I guess I will just have to teach myself or something. I don't know. We will see what happens. Anyways, I got my hair highlighted. She called it a pinwheel style. I think it is cool looking. Afterwards, she gave me a cut. I think she called it a bob shag. I am not very knowledgable about the names. Oh well. I definitely wanted something different and that is what I got. I am happy with it. :) What do you think???

Changes...

Tyler got sick of his blond hair. I guess I would too if everyone I knew was calling me a light bulb. Poor hubby :( Anyway, it is now somewhat back to normal. It is actually black, but it looks like his regular hair. He is happy now and I am happy that he is happy. :)

We are glad that school is done for this semester. We both have just one final left and then it is done until Jan. 7th. We are definitely excited. It is a needed vacation. We are also ready to celebrate our 1 year anniversary!!! I can't believe that it has been 1 year. It has been the greatest year of my life. We still don't know what we are doing, except going out to eat, but that is all we know. I guess as long as we are together, that is what is important.

I PASSED!!

I wish it was my level 2, but I still haven't heard anything about that yet :( but I took my NIC (National Interpreter Certification) written test on Saturday and I passed!! I closed my eyes as I clicked on the submit button, but it was great to read the "Congratulations" phrase! Now I just have to get enough courage to take the performance test....we will see when that is.

New Hair!!

You are probably thinking "what did she do now?" Well, it wasn't me. Tyler decided to dye his hair, but wanted to highlight his hair with red dye. Well, it didn't turn out the way he hoped. What do you think???

2 Weeks Left of School!!!!!

It is finally December (well, tomorrow it is). There is only two weeks left of school and I am so excited!!! I finished a research paper this weekend, so now all I have to worry about are my finals. I am so ready for this semester to be done and ready for Christmas vacation!!! I will be working most of the time up in Salt Lake, but it is only til 1 everyday, so Tyler and I will still have our afternoons together :)

Anyways, Thanksgiving was a lot of fun. The people we live with invited us up to spend Thanksgiving with them. It is the closest thing to "family" that we had here in Utah County without having to travel. It is really Tyler's brothers family, but we still think of them as family for us too. We had dinner at 2 pm and then after that, we played games and had so much fun! It was nice to feel welcomed :) After everyone left, one of the daughters invited us to their house, so we went. We went to their house and watched a movie. It was called "Clue" based off the game. It was very interesting and had some funny parts. It was still fun to go to someone's house and have fun.

Friday, it was decorating time :) We finally put up our tree and Christmas decorations around the house. We have been looking forward to this for a long time. We didn't want to go shopping. We both aren't Black Friday people. We just stayed home and enjoyed each others company.

On Saturday, the lady upstairs invited me and her daughter (Mandie) to go see Twilight! I have finally seen it!! Tyler did not want to see the movie, so I went with the girls. I was glad to finally see it, and I didn't have to pay for the movie either :). After I got back home, Tyler worked a little more on his homework while I was getting things ready in the kitchen. My family's tradition is to make real gingerbread houses....that is what we did. We had fun doing that too.

Tyler's House

We aren't excited to go back to school or work. We have really enjoyed sleeping in, the time off, and being with each other all the time. It is something we both needed. The nice thing is that, again, there is only two weeks left of school and we are very excited!!! Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving too and have a great week!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

It is finally Thanksgiving and I am so ready for it! I think I am more excited for the short week and food :) even though I shouldn't be. It will be nice to sleep in more than one day and be with my husband more than just the weekend. I do work Wednesday up in SLC, but it is to make up for the time I am not working on Thursday ( I prefer not to work holidays). Thursday, we will be joining the people upstairs and then we will head downstairs to set up our Christmas decorations!! We are so excited!! Also, we will be continuing on a tradition my family has done for many years. A tradition my family has is to make gingerbread houses ( not the cheap kind like graham crackers). We will probably do that Thursday or Friday. I made the houses 2 weeks ago out of a mold so they can firm up. This last weekend, we bought the candy to put on the houses. It will be a lot of fun. We will just have to "try" to resist the candy...

I look forward to the fall season because of the holidays. Unfortunately, Thanksgiving is one that is neglected. This is the time that people show more of what they are thankful for. We need to show it more than just one day a year, but I think it is kind of a reminder that we do need to be thankful for what we have. I am thankful for a wonderful husband who I love so so much, a house to live in (a basement), food on the table, gas in our cars, and money to live on and to be able to spend a little :). I just hope that we can all remember what we are thankful for this holiday season and show it through the rest of the year. I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving! We love you all!!!

I HATE SCHOOL!!

Don't you love how November is almost done? I know I sure do because that means school is almost done!!! I am so ready for this semester to be done! I hate my teachers and my schedule! I am so ready for next semester....I get to graduate and I have gone a little strict with my schedule. I will done at 5 or 5:45 each night except Friday's, I am done at 3! I hate getting home at 8 or 9 at night, say hi to my husband, eat a quick dinner and then go to bed. It is no fun at all. We hate it. Weekends are our time together, but sometimes we have things that come up where we can't be together at all! This weekend, for example, Tyler was up in Ogden at a workshop. He was there Friday night and all day Saturday! I am sure you are probably wondering why I didn't go with him and the reason is because I have to work on Saturday's! Agh! That is another thing I am doing. I will refuse to work any weekends. I want to go to workshops with him and spend time with him! Do you blame me? ;)

I am glad that next week is Thanksgiving. We only have to go to school on Monday and Tuesday, I will work in the morning in SLC on Wednesday, and then the rest of the week is ours together!!! YAY!! One thing we are really looking forward to is putting up the Christmas decorations. We have been resisting...We are so excited!! Not much going on this week. Hopefully it goes by fast. We will just have to keep busy so it will go by fast :)

What to do?!?

So, we all know that the holidays are here. When we are single, it is easy to know what to do. Go home! We want to be with our families. When we are married, we want to be with our families too, but which one? It would be nice if both of our families were close because then we could alternate easier or go to both, but with my parents in Texas, Tyler's Dad in Colorado and his mom in Nephi, we are torn on where to go. Our parents don't want us to be alone this Christmas, and we don't either, but we also don't want to go somewhere and just sit around the house waiting for our parents to come home after spending quite a bit of money on tickets. I hate just sitting around. Yes, it would be a nice vacation to just relax, but when you go somewhere that you don't know the area, it makes it very difficult.

We are also on a strict budget so we couldn't just go shopping or something. We have been working hard to save money to specific things and a vacation is one of them, but to somewhere exotic. We would like to go to Hawaii, London, or even a cruise! The problem is that those cost quite a bit of money and I don't have a passport. Those are now about $100! I hate how everything costs money!! We aren't even using credit cards, so we can't just put it on there and pay it off later.

I hate decisions. Especially when it comes to those you love. I want to be with those I love, but I also don't want to go and then be bored, wishing I was home. Maybe we will just go snowboarding a couple of times. Take a couple days off work and go have fun. We have a big decision ahead of us today. Hope we make the right decision.......

Happy November!

I can't believe that November is here already! October went by so fast, but that is completely fine with me :) I am so ready for this semester to be done and over with. I shouldn't complain since I only have 2 classes, but I am already sick of those classes. I feel like one class, the teacher is never prepared and just talks about random stuff. The other class, the teacher loves to talk and I have a hard time understanding his point. Somehow, in the last 5 minutes of class, he can connect it all, but it still isn't fun. I am so ready to graduate!

I think I am ready to just interpret in school and not go to school any more. I love to learn, but I hate the homework and the studying. You are probably thinking "how will you learn then?" I just like going to things for fun to learn. Take some notes on things that interest me, and call it good. That is my kind of learning ;)

Anyway, nothing much going on this week. It is election day on Tuesday, but I already voted, so, I really don't have to worry about that. I guess it is working on school work :( trying to stay ahead so I don't fall behind and have a lot to catch up on during finals week. Have a great week everyone!!!

Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween everyone! I know it isn't until this Friday, but since I blog on Sunday's, I thought I would just say it. :)

This week was busy of course, but this weekend was busy too, but fun busy. :) On Friday, our ward had a Halloween party. Not many showed up, but it was good to get out of the house. Tyler won the costume party!!! He dressed up like he would at disco night at Classic Skating. The hair and skates did it (I think). I was a black angel. I had all black on, including wings and a halo. It was fun to dress up. :)

On Saturday, we had a few friends over to carve pumpkins and dinner. It was good to catch up again. Tyler and the boys had a lot of fun with the dry ice. We had a witch's cauldron that bubbled during the carving. We sure do like to decorate. ;) It was fun to be with friends again, especially those who we haven't seen in a while. Hopefully we can do that again soon. It was a lot of fun. :)

FYI, if you have tried to make comments and couldn't, hopefully I fixed it. Please let me know if it still doesn't work. :)

Baby Hungry!!!

I know girls can relate (maybe boys), but after you have been married, the first thing family/friends ask you is "when are you going to have kids?" We get this all the time. I so want a baby, but we are trying to take care of things first. I want to be done with school (next spring!) and be a level 2 interpreter (sorry McCall, I took your idea). If I don't get these things done now, they will never get done.

Anyways, I have been trying really hard not to think of kids and of course, I see kids all the time now. We go to the store and there are cute babies. I went to my cousin's baby shower this weekend and she got some cute stuff for her soon-to-be baby boy. It has been awful! My success at trying not to think of a baby gets harder every day! Aaaaggghhh! I can't take it anymore! Actually, I can because I love looking at babies and getting cute ideas, but it makes it harder not to think of our own one day. Hopefully I will continue to keep myself very busy so I don't think of babies, and we save some good money. :)

SNOW!!

That is right! We woke up this morning to snow! I can't believe that fall/winter is already here! I love being able to wear cute fall clothes, but I am so not ready to drive in the snow. :( One of the bad things of snow is that it gets me in the mood for Christmas...my favorite holiday! I have already watched some movies (he he). Don't worry...I haven't decorated, yet. We are decorated for Halloween and Fall tho. ;)

This week is Fall Break and I am so glad! It is only a three day week! It is time to get a break from school! I am so ready to graduate and be done with school forever! It can't come soon enough! This week since it is Fall Break, we are going up to SLC to do a few things. I do have to work a couple of hours on Thursday morning, but then after that, it will be fun! Saturday, we are going to Layton. My cousin is having her baby shower while Tyler will be with his sister for a couple of hours. Then, we are going to Frightmares! We both have never been, but we haven't gone to the Lagoon this year and so we thought, "Why not!" I'm glad that next week it will warm up just in time for us to go. We would not be going if it was planning to snow. (Please don't snow!!)

Yesterday was our fun date night! We painted Halloween pumpkins! We had trouble coming up with ideas, but they turned out great! We also made Halloween cookies! I get in these weird cooking moods and want to cook. We made bats, ghosts, and pumpkins! They are way good! Too bad we are both trying to avoid the sweets. ;)

That was our eventful weekend, but we had a lot of fun! Can't wait until this weekend!

Another Week....

Another week has gone by and we are still as busy as ever. It was nice that this weekend was General Conference so we didn't really have to do too much. We got to stay home and just relax. Got a little shopping done, but most of all, it was way nice to be with each other. :)

One of the highlights this week was to buy Iron Man. It is one of Tyler's favorite movies. It is a pretty awesome movie, and if you haven't seen it, we highly suggest it. We do want to go see Eagle Eye, but will probably wait until the dollar movie to save a little bit of money.

Nothing else is new. Just taking it week by week. Until next week....

What the F??!!

I don't think I've ever been so bothered by the lameness of people in this world. I cannot excuse myself from this, I'm guilty of it too sometimes. This has come to my exclamation.....WHAT THE F??!! Really people, drama in this life is so freakin' unnecessary. All it does is create unkind feelings to make people feel better. So who the F cares if someone else gets something and you don't or seems to be cramping your style?! Honestly, I think it takes a capital DOUCHEBAG to think that someone else is to blame or is at fault for making your life hell. Sure, it may seem that way, but it all boils down to this.... You are responsible for your own emotions or deciding that others will control them for you. I honestly don't care what people think about me, what I do or what I am not. At least I am me right? Wrong! Apparently people have the audacity to think they are better than me or better than other people and take the time to blog on this website or on other sites like facebook and just rant and rave about how much their life sucks because so and so does this or so and so can't just grow up..... that's what we should all be doing. JUST FREAKIN' GROW UP!! So what if someone else gets something that you think you "deserve"? What the F are you going to do about it? Cry about it? Complain about it until someone apologizes even though it is you who should be apologizing? GET BENT!! Something has to change and it seems to be one thing.... PRIDE!! Get over yourselves... You're not that great! I hate how people are so into themselves that they can smell it..... you get the point. Get your heads out of your butts and smell the fresh air that is around us. There are people waiting to be met and befriended that you are too busy sticking gold stars on your foreheads to realize it. Dr. Seuss was so on target with the Star Bellied Sneetches.... they were so wrapped on who had a star and who didn't and just because one had one so did the other and blah blah blah.... in the end, they all end up the same. Like I said, I am not excluded on this so you can't say I'm a hypocrite. Just freakin' grow up and get the F off your pedestal because it surely isn't deserved nor has it been given by someone of real importance. So to all those who have been asking, "Why doesn't Tyler blog???" This is why. Because I am so sick of people who call themselves my "friends" and all they do is crap on me and claim all is well in Zion, singing their hymns all the way to church while letting seeds fall by the wayside. Go ahead and comment this all you want.... I know who you all really are and you can't fool me with your sick ugly masks.

We want Fall Break!

Another week has gone by. We are so ready for fall break to get here. It couldn't get here any faster. Both of us are only taking 2 classes each, but it still is hard when we are working full time. Tyler works until 3 in the afternoon and then goes to classes on Tuesday's and Thursday's. I work Monday-Saturday and go to school Monday, Wednesday's and Friday's. I am working two jobs trying to get some good money to pay off our debt and to improve my sign language skills.

Fall Break is coming up and we are so ready to have a good weekend to relax, sleep in, and of course, spend time together. Tyler and I had a blast this weekend. On Friday night, for our date night, we went shopping at Robert's and Michael's to find a bunch of Fall/Halloween items. We found a lot of things! Tyler surprises me of how much he is enjoying decorating with me, but I love it!! Our little basement apartment is decorated for Fall/Halloween. We probably want to find a little more Fall items, but who knows when that will be.

I love that Tyler is being more creative. He is now the cook around the house since I am the one who get's home late. He does an amazing job! He made me a picture frame for my birthday which is vinyl lettering that has our last name (Voris) in red, and in black is says "families are forever established 2007." Thanks Scott's for the great idea! I loved it! I cried because I loved it! I realize each day how much more I love Tyler and so thankful that we are married. It has been the best 9 months of my life!!! I am excited to see what else will happen in our life together. :)

Busy, Busy, Busy

Work and school is really keeping us busy. Tyler and I hardly see each other at all, except for nights when it is time for bed. It isn't very fun at all. :( We are glad we have the weekends though. We don't know what we would do without the weekends. This weekend, we are going to Tucanos to celebrate my birthday, also, we are hoping to go to the Alpine Slide just for fun.

I had to go to Kansas City for a training this past weekend for Sorenson Video Relay Service. I had a lot of fun, but really missed Tyler. I am so ready for a weekend of just relaxing and having fun with Tyler. I am excited to start working more at Sorenson. It is going to be a good experience. I know it will help me pass my Level 2 for Utah certification.

Nothing else is going on. Just busy, busy, busy. I guess that is all for now :)

School Started....

School has officially started. It was only a three day week, but it was nice. We have a four day week this week due to Labor Day. It is nice having only part of the week. We hope to get back in the habit of everything soon. It is definitely nice to start interpreting again. We really missed it this summer. Lacey will be starting Sorenson Video Relay this week and is excited for that. Tyler is working and going to school part time. We will hardly see each other this semester :( Our schedules are so opposite. We were even hoping to car pool, but that won't work. We are glad that gas prices are finally going down, but we don't know how long they will stay down.

We did get a gym membership at the Orem Rec Center and we are way excited for that! That will be our stress reliever this semester, but we are excited to get into shape, be healthy and look great!!

We can't believe that we have been married for 8 months now!! It has been the best 8 months of our lives. We are excited for more to come. We can't believe that it will be a year in December!! We have a free night at a hotel so we will be doing that (a bed and breakfast). That will be a lot of fun!

Nothing else new is happening. We are still waiting to get pregnant. We want Lacey to be done with school first which should be this spring (finally!!!). We want to make sure we are fully ready and our debt is no longer (we are close!). I guess that is all for now. Until next time....

We are glad to be home...FINALLY!!

Our New Family Picture

Yes that is right! We are finally home. It feels great to be in our own place again. It was great to be with family, but we sure missed our home and all of our friends. We actually came home early due to Tyler's job had meetings and started a lot earlier than planned. It is good to be interpreting again. We never thought we would miss it so much. We didn't get much of a vacation in Texas, so our only real vacation is happening this Saturday up in Ogden. There is a place to bowl, flow ride, and fly in the air (Lacey is looking forward to this one). It is the only thing we can do right now due to school starting for Tyler so quickly. We are still trying to adjust to the time zone, but we are getting the hang of it. All we know is that it feels good to be back :)

We Miss Utah!!

I never thought that those words would come out of my mouth, but we are ready to go home. We have about 3 weeks left here in Texas. We just miss OUR things. We are glad to finally be together, but are ready to come home. Tyler is finally basically done with the video that he came to do. He finished the rough draft last night and is waiting to feed back from the camp director and will fix a couple of things and then will never have to worry about it again! He is glad that it is almost over. We are still working at Lacey's dad's office scanning (very boring). We are hoping to get a bonus and go to Six Flags!! We need a real vacation!! With the money we have earned, we paid off our petty debt and now working on the cars! YAY!! Not else is new...We did see the new batman movie and it was AWESOME!!! Definitely a keeper :) I guess that is all for now. Until next time...keep smiling :)

Progress....slow and steady.

Hey everyone, this is Tyler updating you on my progress on the videos I'm working on and my adventure doing them. I finished a short LDS version of the video for a Priesthood session here and the boys that attended the LDS Encampment here at the ranch. I posted it so please view it and give me any feedback that you might have. It's not as good as I hope the final produced commercial will be, and it's been compressed to fit on the website. I basically made a quickie for the stakes here because my Father in Law asked me to. Besides all that, the actual video is now underway and it's been hard to get it right. I'll be done later this month (hopefully) and I'll present that to you all when it is done. Anyway, still making progress.... slow and steady.

We are in Texas!

That is right. We are in Texas. Tyler has been in Texas for one month now and Lacey about 1/2 a month. It has taken us a while to update this. We have been busy with a lot of wedding stuff. Lacey's sister is finally married!! Lacey's mom took 3-4 days to cook cookies, cakes, and buying everything else they needed. Lacey got some good recipes (I will have to have a party and make some). Right after the wedding, we did get the opportunity to go camping as a family. It was definitely not like camping in Utah. We went to Carlsbad, NM. It was in the 100's about everyday. Good thing we had AC in the cabins and a nice cool pool!! It was fun to spend time with the family and go camping. Our fireworks that night was a different kind. We went to Carlsbad Caverns and watched 350,000 bats fly out of a cave! Sweet! It was pretty cool stuff. Right now, we are just working (or hardly working). We are trying to make some good money and save for our real honeymoon. Well, we will try to add more soon (sorry it took so long Rachel..miss you too). As for now...ya'll come back now ya hear! ;)

Scorpions, snakes, and sweaty scouts....

Hey everyone, this is Tyler checking in and posting his blog..... it is officially day 4 in texas and day one of the real film..... it sucks! I am in the middle of the hot desert with scorpions, snakes and sweaty scouts. Fun? Well, if you're interested, you can check out what happened on a future blog when I post the video and such. The food is at least decent, however I am finding the heat a bit much. Although, we had an amazing experience this weekend. We got to the camp Saturday night and we were preparing for the arrival of the LDS encampment as well as President Charles Dalquist (SP?) to arrive. It hasn't rained in over 8 months! The last time it rained only 1/2 inch and that was in october. We were instructed to pray for rain, and as we did so we heard thunder. The forecast said no rain, and they sure weren't expecting a crowd of over 400 LDS members to pray for rain. It rained that night a 8/10 inch and it boasted a lightning and thunder display truly awesome to experience. The next day (Sunday) we were delighted with the presence of President Dalquist and another 2 inches!! Today (monday) we were told to stop praying or else camp might be swept away in a flash flood.... cool experience. Anyway, the film is a bit more difficult than I thought and I am missing the comfort and support of Lacey with me. I can't wait to see her. Until next time, thanks for reading........

Texas here we come!

Tyler is going to Texas June 6th to start filming for his father-in-law. He is making a commercial for their camp. Lacey will be joining him June 18th. Lacey's sister is getting married June 28th so we will be there for that. We are also going camping for July 4th as a family. Tyler and Lacey will be in Texas working until August when work/school starts again. We are excited to spend time with Lacey's family and get out of Utah for a while. :)

We are married!

We got married December 20, 2007 in the Salt Lake City, Utah temple. It was the greatest day of our lives. We now live in Provo in a basement apartment saving up for a place of our own. We both go to school at UVSC, now UVU. Lacey works at UVU as an ASL intepreter for the deaf. Tyler works for Alpine School District as an ASL interpreter for the deaf as well.
