Santa!

We had our family Christmas party this weekend so that my aunt can spend the next 4 weeks with her daughter who is about to have twins and so that my grandparents would be able to come up when it isn't snowing. It did snow, but not as bad as it could have. It is always fun to see family. We did get a cute picture of Cameron and Santa. We look forward to many more pictures!

One Month Old!!

I can't believe that I have been a mom for one month! Where has the time gone? It seems like yesterday I was still pregnant. I guess this is kind of an idea of what his life will be like. Next thing we know, he will be getting married or something. I better take advantage of the time I have now with him.

For Halloween, we were able to carve pumpkins. This is something we have done ever since we have known each other. It helped having my mom here to watch Cameron for us for a little bit. It allowed us to carve the pumpkin and cook the seeds.

We were also able to dress Cameron up for at least a picture in a Halloween costume. Thanks to a coworker, we did have a costume to dress him up in. It will be even more fun when he can go trick or treating in it. I look forward to the wonderful years ahead of us :)

2 1/2 weeks!

It is so amazing that I have been a mom for 2.5 weeks! I am so grateful that my mom has been here to help me through the nights and keep me company during the day while Tyler is gone to school and work. Tyler has been great too. He has gotten up during the night sometimes to help with Cameron when Cameron is having a rough night and I am tired. He is such a great dad. I love seeing the two of them together. It melts my heart when I see them bonding. I love it.

Cameron is doing great though. He sleeps 4-5 hours a night allowing us to sleep and is great during the day. He does have his moments when he has a rough time, but other than that, he is a great baby. I couldn't ask for anything better. Now that Cameron is so good, our next one (years down the road) will probably be hard.

It is weird for me staying home all day to be with him. I am so used to working two jobs and before going to school at the same time. Now, I just stay home and take care of Cameron. I love it, but sometimes I get bored because you can only do so much. I am trying to get some hobbies to keep me occupied for a little bit. I even bought a sewing machine (belated birthday gift) so I can learn how to sew more things. I am excited to see what I can learn and do on this machine.

One more great news...we are proud owners of BOTH of our cars!!! We paid off my car at the beginning of this year, and just paid off the Subaru. It feels great! The only "debt" we have left is our student loans. It feels great that we don't have to worry about the other stuff!

I will keep you posted on our little boy and how he is doing.

Our New Bundle of Joy

That is right! He has finally arrived!!! Cameron Selby Voris was born October 5, 2009 at 1:27 pm. He was 7 lbs 5 oz and 21 inches long. He is a very healthy and happy baby.

We arrived at the hospital at around 1 am on Monday morning. 12.5 hours of labor later (including 1.5 hours of pushing), he was here. Our little boy finally came into this world and we could never be so happy. We love being a family of 3 now. It is difficult with Tyler being gone to school and work all the time, but we know it will all be worth it. Tyler is also great with Cameron. They love to be with each other. I think sometimes Cameron will follow Tyler's voice with his eyes. For a 6 day old baby, he is very alert, but I like it. I think it is very cute :)

Now we are just trying to adjust to the new sleeping/feeding schedule, but he is catching on after a few exhausting days/nights. He is such a cute little boy and we love him so much. We are so glad that he is finally here.

Another Doctor Visit

It feels like I should be done with these doctor visits. I can't believe that I still technically have 2 weeks left. I was really hoping that he would come early. We still have time that he can be early, but it is getting really hard. Today was my last day of work, so that will help me a lot. I can really get ready for when he does come. It is hard not to organize now. I want to clean and get ready now, but I also don't want to clean everything and have nothing to do for 2-3 weeks. I just need to find a hobby. Any suggestions?

The doctor told me today that I am still the same. I have not changed. I am still 1.5 cm dialated and 75% effaced. It is disappointing hearing that news, but it might be because he just isn't ready yet. I know things happen for a reason and I need to remember that. I kind of hope he doesn't come this weekend anyway because my doctor is going out of town. I really want my doctor to deliver Cameron. That is part of the reason for us going up to Sandy all the time, but I guess when he is ready, he is ready. We will see what happens next week at the next visit. Hopefully some better news.

Fall

This cooler weather has been great for me. Being pregnant during the summer isn't fun, with the heat. The next time we do get pregnant (which won't be for a while), we will try to get pregnant at the end of the summer so I can be warm during the winter. That won't happen for a while though, so we won't worry about that until the time comes.

Anyway, I can't believe the first day of fall is next week on Tuesday. I am excited to see the leaves change colors and the season come into bloom, but I really hope it doesn't go by too fast. I am not ready for winter yet. I am really enjoying the sunshine and I am not ready for it to go away. I think mostly what I am excited for is decorating. I LOVE to decorate. I am ready for the holidays so I can decorate. Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are my favorites. I wish they had more for Thanksgiving, but I will just have to buy one thing at a time until it all adds up; that is what my mom told me to do :)

On another note, I went to the doctor again today. I am at my weekly visits. It helps the time go by fast for me. I am now 1.5 cm dialated and 70% effaced. The doctor is saying that he could come in the next couple of weeks. I guess we will see if it is true or not. He doesn't think I will be late. I am ready for him to come. It has been a hard, long pregnancy, but I know it will be worth it. I am excited to be a mom and I know Tyler is excited to become a dad.

I will keep you posted on what is happening. Hopefully something really exciting happens soon :D
