3 years!

I cannot believe it was 3 years ago yesterday that I was married for time and all eternity. It has been a wonderful 3 years too! It has felt like it has been longer than just 3 years, but I am okay with that.

Yesterday was a great day! Tyler was done with school and work and I took the night off work so we could have the whole day together. It started off by dropping Cameron off at our good friends house across the street. I have never left him with anyone, but my mom, so I was nervous. I didn't know how he would handle someone else besides me or Tyler. I as so relieved that he did so well! He didn't cry at all! Except going down for a nap because it wasn't his own bed, but such a relief! I am so thankful. It allowed Tyler and I to go out to eat for lunch at Tucanos and run a few errands before going home. It was so nice to have a date alone. It has been a long time.

I am looking forward to so many more years to spend with this wonderful husband of mine!

Shutterfly Christmas!

We all love this wonderful time of the year. I love getting cards to see what is happening with family and friends. It is a good way to keep up with everyone. Shutterfly offers a great variety of cards. You can do a photo card, just a plain Christmas card or even do Christmas gifts.

I really like their photo books. It allows you to import your pictures into a book and then they send the book to you in no time! It allows you to keep your photos so you don't have to "damage them" and they are kept nicely in the book.

I have not used their cards before, but I am excited to try it out. I have never sent a Christmas card myself, but now that we have a family of three, I think it is a good time to start. I would like people to know what great things are happening in our lives. That is the point of Christmas cards anyways..to brag about accomplishments in life :)

I am hoping that this will start many more Christmas cards in my family. I am excited to show off my family. I am a very cute family and I think people need to see them. I can't wait to get this cards done so everyone can see.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I can't believe it is Thanksgiving and the end of November is here. It has just gone by so fast! And before we know it, Christmas will be here (29 days)!

It is a time to definitely be thankful. We have so much to be thankful this year. We have a roof over our head, a job to pay for that roof and put food on the table. I have a great family. I have a wonderful husband who takes care of me and Cameron, even last weekend when I was sick in bed. We belong to a church that is amazing. So thankful for our Lord, Jesus Christ, who allows us to repent of our wrongings and eventually return to live with him again. Thankful to have an education. Thankful to be able to stay home during the day so I can watch Cameron. Thankful for friends who are there for me.....

There are so many things that I am thankful this year and this is just a handful.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

Happy Halloween!

"It's the most wonderful time of the year...."

Wrong song, but I thought it fit perfect. Halloween marks the start of my three favorite holidays. I think it is mostly because I get to decorate ;)

This past Saturday, we had friends over and we made a craft. Shanna got an idea to take a bird house and make it into a haunted house. Tyler was able to get a hold of wood and create his own. He did a fantastic job. I added my opinion, but it was all him.

Sunday, we did our pumpkin carving. Cameron is still too young to do anything, so he slept while Tyler and I went at carving. Afterwards, I made my pumpkin seeds. They sure were yummy.

This weekend, we get to go trick-or-treating. It will be our first time. It won't be long because Cameron still doesn't understand what is going on, but it will be fun as he gets older. We sure are excited. He is going to be a cute tiger.

I hope everyone has a wonderful, but safe, Halloween!!!

1 year old!

I can't believe our little boy is one! Where has time gone?? It goes by so fast! He is turning into a "boy." We love this little one and we are so excited to see what will happen next. Here are his stats:
  • 32" tall (95%)
  • 21 lbs (25%)
  • drinking from a camelback cup (with a straw)
  • sleeps mostly 12 hours a night
  • loves to crawl all over
  • can pull himself up on everything now
  • can sign MORE, MILK, DAD (not often, but getting there)
  • starting to say words (dog, jesus, dad, dee dee, papa, mom, done)
Here are some pictures of the birthday party. We had a long day due to family pictures the same day, but we had everyone there from my family and it was fun.

Our house looks like a house!!

That is right. Our house looks even more like a house. We have been working hard for the past couple of weeks. Raking rocks, adding a back patio and side patio, smoothing out the yard, spreading compost, and smoothing again. It has been a long 3 months. It has been hard to do too since Tyler has been at work and school, so I have been working on it by myself. I wanted the yard done so I went out everyday during Cameron's nap and worked. I have the blisters and sunburn to prove it...but I am so glad it is done. We still need to add trees and some bushes, but my dad has offered to help out when he comes in October. Here are some pictures to show the work :)

11 months!!

I can't believe he is almost 1!!! Time sure does fly, especially when you are so busy. This little boy is the love of my life (at least the second love of my life). He is getting so big and looking more like a toddler everyday. I miss the baby :( I guess that is part of growing up.

Now that he is 11 months, he can finally crawl. He is into everything. I am glad he hit the milestone though. He has learned how to wave. Still loves his bouncer. Loves bath time. Has 5 teeth (3 on bottom and 2 on top). Wears 18 month clothing. Loves his dad...he gets a huge grin every time he sees dad come get him up in the morning (Tyler is gone all day and night so that is the only time he gets to see him).

I have started practicing for his birthday cake. Hopefully I can get it down in a month ;) We sure love this little boy and we are excited to see what this next month will bring!

Goals...part 2

I have been trying really hard to work on my goals. It has been a lot harder than I thought. I think it is harder with a little one, but I am trying my best to get those goals.

I have started my 5K training. I am on week 3 out of 9 right now. It is hard, but I am glad to have Tyler with me, at least until school/work starts. My mom told me that the first 2-3 weeks are the hardest, so hopefully it will get a little better. I am still trying to figure out which 5K to run in. It is hard when a lot of them are up north. We will see what happens.

I am working on being more crafty. I made some baby gifts the other day. I was proud of myself because I did it all by myself. I helped Tyler (yes you read that right) make a curtain for one of our small window in the front. He wanted to do it, so I let him. :) After talking to my mom, we have decided to make Cameron's Halloween costume. It will be hard, but it will be fun doing it together with Tyler. If you have any suggestions, all would be appreciated.

I just need to be better at my other goals. I am working on them every day, but just waiting to see results and staying on top of the goals to make sure I do stuff that I have planned. I will let you know how they continue to go ;)

10 months!

I can't believe this little one is 10 months old! He is just growing up so fast!! We love this little one though. He went swimming for the first time 2 weeks ago and as you can tell, he is enjoying himself, as long as the water doesn't get on his face. We had a blast!

He still hasn't learned how to crawl, but doing tons better at tummy time. He actually turns in circles and pushes a little backwards, but that is about it. Hopefully soon he will get the crawling. He has learned to blow bubbles. You are probably thinking "every baby does that". Well, he can do it when you ask him to. He will go on and on too. If you look at the video on the previous post, Tyler filmed it.

We love him so much! We are so glad he came into this world to make us a family of three :)

Like father, like son...

Like father, like son, Cameron has learned to blow bubbles. Fascinated by his new found talent, I filmed for all to share. I hope you can enjoy this half as much as we did.

Goals

I have been doing a lot of thinking lately. I have realized that I have achieved all the goals that I have planned while in school. I wanted to get a Bachelor's degree, get my level 2 in interpreting, and eventually get my national level for interpreting as well. I have achieved all and funny enough in the same year! It has been a process to get them all, but I achieved them all. I owe it to Cameron since I got them all while pregnant with him ;)

Anyways, I was thinking today and I realized that I have no other personal goals. I have goals like getting a house and being a mom (which I have achieved as well), but those are things I can't do by myself. I want to do things that will make me a better person.
  • Read my scriptures every morning
  • Be more creative (learn how to sew more things, scrapbook more, make cakes, etc.)
  • Lose 20 lbs.
  • Do more than just watch TV (be more productive)
  • Run a 5K

That is what I can think of right now, but they are all things I can do all the time. It is a list that will keep me busy. Just hope I can stick to it.

Vacation to Texas

We have made it home from Texas. Tyler was up at camp with my dad and Scott while us three girls stayed home. It was the coolest I have ever seen Texas in the middle of the summer. It was feeling the affects from the hurricane so there was a lot of rain. Even at camp, it was cooler. It stayed in the 80's and sometimes cooler. 2 years ago, Tyler was up at camp and it was 115 degrees. A big difference!

It was fun being just the girls though. ManDee had to work 3 days that week, but then on Friday we went to meet the boys. I was hoping to take Cameron swimming for the first time, but it was so rainy that we couldn't. Hopefully soon we will be able to go.

While in Texas, my mom taught me how to can chicken. It was a lot easier than I thought. I have made jam, but this is totally different. I wish I had the utensils to make more chicken, but at least I have some for now. Maybe one of these days when I save up the money I can get one. We will see.

Cameron had a lot of fun with everyone. He loved getting spoiled. Aunt ManDee even bought him an airplane outfit to wear on the way home. Everyone at the airport commented on how cute he was.

Now we are home and back into reality. We got home and our carbon monoxide alarm was going off! What a way to start off! The fire department had to show up and everything. Cameron sure love the big red truck though. That is his new favorite color, it seems like. We are just glad that it was just the batteries and nothing serious.

As much as we had fun with family, we are glad to be home and in our own beds; just in time to clean and get ready for my parents to come into town :)

Happy Fourth of July!!

I can't believe that it is July! I hate how summer goes by so fast and the school year seems to drag on, especially winter. It just isn't fair! I guess we can't control the weather. Sometimes I wish I could.

This year, we are with my family in Texas. Tyler was asked to make another film for my dad and the Boy Scout Ranch for more advertising. Of course, Tyler can't go without me and Cameron, so we went too ;) I wouldn't want to be in Utah all alone either. I'd rather be with my family and spend time with them. It gives them time to be with Cameron as well. It will be fun to go on a
"vacation" as well. Just to get out of the state. It is always good ;)

Cameron is also 9 months old! He is just growing so fast! He is doesn't seem like a baby anymore except for the part that he doesn't move yet. He is finally pushing up when he is on his tummy (mini push-ups as they are called) so that is a big step for him. Now just to learn how to move while on his tummy. He moves on his back in a circle which is fun to watch. He pushes himself up with his legs into a bridge position and moves around. It is very interesting. He has learned to pick up food with the pincher fingers. Sometimes he doesn't get it right, but he has the basic concept of it. It is fun to listen to him try to talk as well. He is saying "daddy" and "momma" pretty clear. Just waiting for him to separate it to each of us. It was so cute though. Makes my heart melt :)

We are still enjoying the new house. We love it!! We are still working on the landscape, but that will take some time as we are trying to save for the lawn, bushes, trees, concrete, and my garden. The garden probably won't happen until next year, but we are at least saving a little spot for it. I am excited to grow my own flowers and some vegetables. It will be fun!

What we have been up to....

Now that we are in the house, it is time to work on the landscaping. The inside is done. We bought all the blinds and will slowly get curtains, but we aren't in a hurry for those. The biggest thing right now is the landscaping. It is a lot of hard work.

We are working on the backyard and the sprinkler system right now. Our backyard sloped so much that we decided to add a retaining wall. The guy who came out to do it did such a good job. He did it in one day! Probably because it isn't very big, but it is still great! I was hesitant at first, but now I'm glad we did it. It helps out the slope a lot. We still have a huge backyard for us to play in and that is what was important to us.

The other thing that will cost us quite a bit is the top soil and sod. That stuff is so expensive! It will be a lot of work too. We will probably get the help from our Elder's quorum so it will go faster, but it is just saving money now to be able to buy the stuff.

The house is a lot of work, but it is so worth it being in our own place. We love the peace and quiet. We have a great ward, even though it is really loud :) something we are not used to. We are getting to know our neighbors and so far they are great too. We are excited to live here for quite a while :)

8 Months!!

Our little boy is 8 months old! He is getting so big! We had a comment the other day that when he has little shoes on, he looks more like a toddler than a baby. He is probably because he is so tall! It is a good thing though, since we want him to take after Tyler with height, since he is a boy ;) Some of the things he has learned:
  • He can scream (not fun!)
  • Can scream and cry at the same time (even worse!)
  • Loves to babble (dada, mama, baba)
  • Can pick up food, but not quite put it in his mouth yet

He is just growing so fast, but I am loving it, even when it is frustrating ;) We are still working on tummy time. He still hates it. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. I have tried putting toys in front of him, putting a blanket under his chest, and getting down on the floor with him. I am just out of ideas. I guess he is just taking his time learning to push himself up and crawl. Oh well.

On another note, we have moved into our house! Last weekend was the move in. It was difficult. We have a lot more stuff than we thought. Now we are trying to unpack everything and figure out where to put it all. The joys of moving, but it is so worth it! We love being in our own home and being a family, just us 3, for now ;) We don't have internet right now ( I am at work writing this), but when we do get it back, I will try to post some pictures!!

House

So, we bought a house! It is so exciting! We are actually building which is hard to wait to see when it gets finished, but it is fun watching the process. It is only a 45 build time and we are almost there! It is finishing up the last details in the house this week, we do the final walk through and then we close! We are so excited to get a place of our own. It is a place we can have a family in and not be crowded. It is a cute community where other young married couples live so we can get some new friends our age with kids for Cameron to grow up with as well. We are so excited! I know it is only a short build time, but it is still hard to wait :) Here are a couple of pictures to share :)
Our lot!

Once the house is fully done, I will post a couple more pictures, but this is basically it! We are so excited and can't wait to have people come visit us, especially our family this year :)

Hair Cut

Cameron got his first hair cut a couple of weeks ago. It was so sad to cut his hair, but it was starting to get out of control, plus we like it when it natural spikes itself :) The longer the hair, the more flat it laid down. We tried to use the electric cutter, but he was not a big fan. We think it scared him. We tried our best, but then had to resort to scissors. My parents now say that he looks like a "little man" and I have to agree. He sure is getting big, but more and more fun each day.

Birthday Fun!

For Tyler's birthday, we went to Tucanos for lunch. It is something we do for our birthdays. You can sign up online and get one free meal with the purchase of one. We had 4 other people join us as well. One of Tyler's friends from Layton and his wife, plus his friends brother and date. They were having a Mother's Day special so we counted that for me too :) They had chocolate covered strawberries and gave flowers to the girls. It was a lot of fun. Here are some pictures of us having fun at Tucanos.

Happy Birthday!!

The boys in my life are celebrating their birthdays this week. It is Tyler's actual birthday on Thursday and Cameron is 7 months old on Wednesday!
For Tyler, on Thursday, it will just be him and me celebrating. It is hard to do much during the week when both of us work. We are mostly excited for is Saturday. We are going out to eat at lunch time at Tucanos which is a tradition for us. After that, we are heading to the movies. Tyler has been looking forward to this for a long time. We are going to see Iron Man 2!!! I think that is what he is looking forward to the most, but I am okay with that. We will be taking Cameron with us, so we will see how he does.
We don't do anything to celebrate for Cameron on his birthday, but we will for sure on his first birthday. Let me tell you what is happening with our little boy:

  • He loves to talk and say "dada" all the time
  • He just learned that his lips make noise when put together and pulled apart
  • Puts his head to the side when you say "cute boy" and copy him
  • Getting the hang of sitting up on his own
  • Loves bath time
  • Learned to sign "milk" and "daddy" - no mommy yet :(
  • Loves to talk to Grandma and Grandpa on Skype every Sunday
  • Has found his "real" laugh
I love my boys so much! I am so thankful to have both of them in my life. They make me so happy. I am sad to leave them at night sometimes, when I work, but it gives them daddy/son time which is good, especially now that Cameron is definitely a daddy's boy. Happy Birthday!!!

6 Month Check-Up

We went to the doctor today for Cameron to see how big he is. Unfortunately, he had to get his shots too and that is never fun. At least he doesn't have to have any until he is 1 now. Anyway, his stats are:

Height: 28 inches (90%)
Weight: 16 lbs 2 oz (25%)

He is still a good boy. I have some work I need to do to help him continue to grow, but that is what mom's are for. :) I am excited to continue to see him grow and learn. He is really getting his personality and it is so much fun! It makes me love being a mom that much more.

6 months!

I cannot believe it has been 6 months! Time has just flown by! I am loving every minute of it though. He is getting so big! We go to the doctor next week so we will know exactly how big he really is. It is always fun to see how much he has grown.

He is turning into such a boy. I love putting him in "real" boy clothes now. He is just so cute!!! Some of the things he is doing now:
  • pushes his feet into the ground to move instead of rolling

  • teething

  • loves his soilds

  • loves his daddy

  • loves to laugh/smile

  • learning how to sit up

I love this little boy. He is such a joy and we love having him in our lives. We are so glad he came earlier than planned. I don't know what we would do without him. Our lives have changed for the better.

Happy Easter!

Cameron got to color his first eggs, even though mommy and daddy really did it. He still got to be with us. He was more interested in the box than anything. He did try to hold an egg. Thank goodness it was boiled.

He sure is growing up. Such a big boy. We love him so much! We enjoy all the time we get to spend together.

Happy Birthday Mom!!

I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday mom! I wish we were there to celebrate it with you, but I guess right now we will just have to be there in spirit.

Thanks for being such an awesome Grandma! I know Cameron will have more fun when he gets older and can understand what is happening. That is why we scrapbook though so he can look back and see what you have done for him. :)

Have fun in Florida on your birthday :) We love you tons!!!

Solids...take 2

Cameron has been on solids for 2 weeks now. He is still liking them. As of last Friday, we started him on vegetables. He was not sure about that. His face was classic. I wish Tyler was there with me so he could have taken a picture while I was feeding him. We started him out on carrots. After 1 feeding of those, he loved them. He would open his mouth so I could put the spoon in. I love it when he makes it easy for me to feed. I don't know how long that will last though. Today we started squash. He was iffy about those too. Hopefully he will soon love them too. I am hoping to start making my own baby food soon. We want to save money as much as possible. I am making sure he isn't allergic to anything before I start making our own. Don't want to waste :)
This Friday, Cameron is turning 5 months old! I cannot believe it! He is getting so big!! Here is what he is up to:
  • eating solids
  • sleeps 10-11 hours a night (sometimes)
  • has rolled over twice
  • loves to lay on his side (only his left)
  • still is not a fan of tummy time
  • loves his rings
  • puts everything in his mouth
  • has the cutest smile ever
We are still so blessed to have this little one in our lives. He can have his frustrating moments, but it is so hard to be mad at him when he smiles up at you. Such a cute boy.

My favorite of Tyler and Cameron

Update..

We went to the doctor yesterday. Cameron is a healthy boy. His stats are: height 26 1/4 (75-90%) weight 14 lbs 5 oz (25-50%) head 41.8 cm (25-50%). He is doing great, according to the doctor. He said he is on the right track and growing well. He had to have more shots yesterday and that wasn't fun. It is always hard to hear your little boy cry :(

On the fun side, he does get to start solids. We started that last night and he did very well. He ate it all! He was even helping me put it in his mouth. He would open his mouth for me and let me put the cereal in his mouth. Sometimes he would even grab my hand and lead it towards his mouth! I'm glad that we are already off to a good start.

Here are some pictures of him enjoying his first solids...

He is actually enjoying the food

4 months!!

Our little one is 4 months old! Well, at least this Friday he will be. Time has flown by so fast. I just can't believe that he is 4 months old. He is getting so big. We go to the doctor next week so it will be exciting to see how much he has grown. He seems to be having a lot of growth spurts lately. I feel like I am constantly feeding him. It is not fun and wearing me out.
He seems to be healthy. He hasn't had anything dramatic happen (knock on wood). He has had a cold and that wasn't fun, but luckily we stayed on top of that and it didn't get too bad. He got to help me make a Valentine's Day card for Tyler so we are excited to give that to him. I would post a picture, but Tyler reads this. Maybe I will post the picture after he opens it :)
I will tell you some of the things that he doing now:
  • talking all the time (cooing)
  • kicking his legs like he is running a marathon
  • getting better at tummy time - can actually lift off the ground now
  • sleeping about 11 hours a night
  • found his fingers - loves to suck on them
  • staying up longer during the day
  • liking books
  • loves the bears in his crib - we find him talking to them and smiling to them like they are his friend
  • smiles all the time
  • knows mommy and daddy well
  • starting to sign mom (it looks like it anyways)

He just keeps getting bigger and bigger. I love this little guy! He is the best thing that has happened to our family, for now. We are excited to see him grow. He is lots of fun and we love him lots.

Glad he isn't up all night :)

Happy New Year!

I can't believe it is 2010! I feel that 2009 went by so fast. It probably helped that a lot happened in 2009. I graduated from college, had a baby, and passed two difficult sign language tests. It was a busy year for us. We are looking forward to many wonderful things this year.

Christmas was spent as my parents house in Texas. It is always good to be with the family. It was our 3rd Christmas together and Cameron's first. We bought Guitar Hero for ourselves this year and bought a couple of toys for Cameron. He isn't old enough to understand what is going on, so we thought there was really no point to buy too many things for him. Grandma Dee and Papa bought him a couple of toys, a children's Book of Mormon story book, pj's, and an outfit. He is one spoiled kid, but I'm sure he doesn't mind ;)

On New Year's Eve, we had a fondue party. It didn't turn out the way that we had hoped, but it was fun for me. I have never done fondue before. At this time, everyone was getting sick, so of course no one stayed up.

We are now home and start work and school this week. Not too excited, but that is life. I do start back at work this week so Tyler will be alone with Cameron for about 2 hours. It will give him some bonding time with Cameron. It will be good for both of them.

Cameron is turning 3 months on Tuesday. It has just flown by. I can't believe how big he is getting. He is staying awake longer and loves to smile. Papa was the first to get him to laugh. It was the cutest thing ever!! Unfortunately, Papa was the only one to get him to laugh. I guess I will just have to work on it. I'm sure he will come around soon for all of us to enjoy :)

We hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday.
