Christmas

Christmas was a lot more fun this year. Cameron is now old enough to understand what is going on. He has been really excited and it has shown. This little boy has so much energy! I put together a list of 25 activities to do with him too to keep him busy. I think he enjoyed it since everyday he would ask me what our new activity was. I enjoyed our little time together too. We would do it while Taryn was asleep so it would give us our little one on one time.

Cameron asked for a truck and a movie this year. So nice when they are young. It is a very small list :) He ended up getting a police truck from Grandad (gave us a gift card and we bought it) and a Mickey Mouse movie from Santa. Taryn got a dog and an outfit. We do three presents each and a couple of things in the stockings (what I want, what I need, and what I will wear). Very simple Christmas, but that is okay. We don't want to go over board anyways.

This Christmas, we wanted to bring in the real reason as well and not just Santa. I kept telling Cameron it is Jesus' birthday. He eventually got it :) I found a cute scripture advent chain on Pinterest and I decided to do that with him everyday. That was his scripture for the day. It helped me remember the real reason too. I didn't realize how much I needed it to. I think it is a keeper and we will do it every year.

We had Shad and his family over for Christmas dinner. This was my first time making a ham. So much easier than turkey lol. After dinner, I had put together some games to keep the kids from going crazy. I found some fun minute to win it games. I wish I would have taken some pictures, but it was a lot of fun. At least we had some family to get together with.

Next year will be fun because Cameron will be 4 and Taryn will be 18 months! Cannot believe it!! I am looking forward to that and hoping to get shopping done way earlier :)

2 Weeks Left of School!!!!!

It is finally December (well, tomorrow it is). There is only two weeks left of school and I am so excited!!! I finished a research paper this weekend, so now all I have to worry about are my finals. I am so ready for this semester to be done and ready for Christmas vacation!!! I will be working most of the time up in Salt Lake, but it is only til 1 everyday, so Tyler and I will still have our afternoons together :)

Anyways, Thanksgiving was a lot of fun. The people we live with invited us up to spend Thanksgiving with them. It is the closest thing to "family" that we had here in Utah County without having to travel. It is really Tyler's brothers family, but we still think of them as family for us too. We had dinner at 2 pm and then after that, we played games and had so much fun! It was nice to feel welcomed :) After everyone left, one of the daughters invited us to their house, so we went. We went to their house and watched a movie. It was called "Clue" based off the game. It was very interesting and had some funny parts. It was still fun to go to someone's house and have fun.

Friday, it was decorating time :) We finally put up our tree and Christmas decorations around the house. We have been looking forward to this for a long time. We didn't want to go shopping. We both aren't Black Friday people. We just stayed home and enjoyed each others company.

On Saturday, the lady upstairs invited me and her daughter (Mandie) to go see Twilight! I have finally seen it!! Tyler did not want to see the movie, so I went with the girls. I was glad to finally see it, and I didn't have to pay for the movie either :). After I got back home, Tyler worked a little more on his homework while I was getting things ready in the kitchen. My family's tradition is to make real gingerbread houses....that is what we did. We had fun doing that too.

We aren't excited to go back to school or work. We have really enjoyed sleeping in, the time off, and being with each other all the time. It is something we both needed. The nice thing is that, again, there is only two weeks left of school and we are very excited!!! Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving too and have a great week!!

What to do?!?

So, we all know that the holidays are here. When we are single, it is easy to know what to do. Go home! We want to be with our families. When we are married, we want to be with our families too, but which one? It would be nice if both of our families were close because then we could alternate easier or go to both, but with my parents in Texas, Tyler's Dad in Colorado and his mom in Nephi, we are torn on where to go. Our parents don't want us to be alone this Christmas, and we don't either, but we also don't want to go somewhere and just sit around the house waiting for our parents to come home after spending quite a bit of money on tickets. I hate just sitting around. Yes, it would be a nice vacation to just relax, but when you go somewhere that you don't know the area, it makes it very difficult.

We are also on a strict budget so we couldn't just go shopping or something. We have been working hard to save money to specific things and a vacation is one of them, but to somewhere exotic. We would like to go to Hawaii, London, or even a cruise! The problem is that those cost quite a bit of money and I don't have a passport. Those are now about $100! I hate how everything costs money!! We aren't even using credit cards, so we can't just put it on there and pay it off later.

I hate decisions. Especially when it comes to those you love. I want to be with those I love, but I also don't want to go and then be bored, wishing I was home. Maybe we will just go snowboarding a couple of times. Take a couple days off work and go have fun. We have a big decision ahead of us today. Hope we make the right decision.......
