Where Did August Go???

I cannot believe that August is just about over! I feel like it just began! Tyler finished summer school last week on Friday and is still waiting for the grades to be posted, but I know he did great. He officially started work today, but started meetings on Tuesday. He is ready to be back to work and not being bored. We didn't get to do much this summer because of me being pregnant and sick all the time. We wanted to go somewhere, but my sickness made it very difficult. It was also hard to plan while Tyler was in school for the summer too. We couldn't have him missing any classes because they were difficult classes and we wanted him to pass. We will get to go somewhere soon...we hope.

I have been working in SLC all summer to try to earn some money to pay off our debt. We are getting closer to that. I am hoping to work until September 30th so we can get as much money as possible. I will be starting work at UVU next week, so I will be really busy again, but it is better than just sitting at home. :)

We are getting closer and closer to meeting this little one. We are getting excited, but nervous at the same time. Being a parent is a very scary thing. I am just glad that I have such a wonderful husband that will be by my side. I know we already make a wonderful team, but excited for the team to become stronger as we become 3.

I guess that is all for now. Just randomness...nothing specific :)

30 weeks

It is August already and I am 30 weeks pregnant! It is weird to think that I can have this baby 8-12 weeks from now. Where did the time go? It has been hard because I have been sick, so I am ready to meet this little one, but not yet. I don't want him to come too early. Thinking that time is running out, it makes me start to worry that we don't have everything yet. I am still not sure what we all need. People tell me that you never have enough onesies (sp), but that still doesn't help. I guess we will learn as he comes into this world.

Now that I am 30 weeks, this is what has been going on:

1. He is constantly moving
2. We can feel him when we poke at the stomach after he pokes us
3. I am hot all the time...summer time :(
4. It is harder to sleep at night
5. I feel like I am in the bathroom all the time
6. Some clothes are too tight (not all maternity clothes, just bigger sizes)
7. Feet are swollen
8. He loves his daddy's voice (he kicks more when Tyler talks to him)

It is getting harder, but more and more exciting. We are excited to meet this little one and have a family of 3. We are now down to the 2 week doctor visits. I guess we will keep you posted on how things are going, but for now, they are going well and we are both healthy :)

Canning

I have watched my mom can since I can remember. I have always been curious about it and how it works, but I have never asked. I finally did. Being pregnant, you crave things. I was craving my mom's home made peach jam. I can't just run over to her house and get it, so I decided maybe I should try. I called my mom and asked what I needed to do. She explained it to me, so I went for it. I finally have canned! I made my first peach jam! I just hope now that it tastes good :) My next project will be to actually can fruit and other things like chicken. My mom will be coming out here in October to help with the baby and she has offered to help teach me! I am so excited! It will give me the opportunity to learn from a great cook and also not sleep all the time :) I am also hoping to get a sewing machine soon and make curtains for the baby's room. I thought that would be cheaper than buying curtains. I guess I have a lot on my plate when my mom comes, but it will all be worth it.

Tyler Voris and the Snake of Doom!

Here is another blog by Tyler. Very few and far between might I say, but this is blog worthy stuff I guess. Last night on Fox 13 news, there was a report saying because of the heat the snakes are out. They gave a demonstration with rattlesnakes and gopher snakes and what to do. Little did I know that this would apply to me sooner than later. However, I am the biggest wuss when it comes to snakes! I am very frightened by snakes (aka Indiana Jones Syndrome) and there just happened to be a rattler in the back yard of the house we're staying at. The owner came downstairs to get me to help (which was zero help from me really) and we had it spotted soon enough thanks to their dog and the trapping skills of the owners brother. In no time there was a dead rattler in the bucket, measuring about three feet in length. To be honest, it doesn't matter how long it is; a snake is a snake no matter what size! Thank goodness it's dead and not in the garden anymore. However, I don't feel that this will be the last of the snakes. This is the third encounter with snakes already! The previous two were only gopher snakes; but like I said, a snake is a snake no matter what size!

24 weeks!!

I am finally in my 3rd trimester! When I look back, time sure has flown fast, but during those 6 months, it felt like time was moving slow. I am feeling the baby move a lot more and he loves to kick the bladder. I still feel him down lower, but I am sure I will start to feel him soon in the stomach as he gets bigger. Anyways, I have had some people ask for pictures of the belly, so here I am at 24 weeks.

I Can't Believe It!!!

Yesterday, I was at work. I called Tyler when I was off and walking to my car. I opened the door, sat down, closed the door and heard a weird noise. I looked behind me and the back window had completely shattered!! I was hit by a golf ball from the golf course next to our building! I was so stunned! Of course, I start bawling because of the pregnancy hormones. I hung up the phone with Tyler to ask my boss what I needed to do. I got some information and decided to call the insurance. After talking to the agent, we decided to just pay for the window ourselves. We are now trying to get the city to reimburse us, but who knows if that will happen or how long it will take. Let's just say I was a mess when I got home.

Two hours later, I decided to check my email and in my junk box, I have an email that says "NIC results." My heart starts pounding. I start to bawl again because I felt that I did not pass. Tyler decides to read the email for me and let me know if I passed or not. I walk to the kitchen to try to breathe. He comes out of the computer room with this look on his face, and I knew I failed. I start crying harder (pregnancy hormones are not fun). He then proceeds to tell me that I passed! I can't belive it! I am nationally certified! This is such a big step for me. For those who aren't sure what this means: I can now move to any state and they will accept this certification. It also means a pay raise ;) We are so excited!

I am so glad that Heavenly Father gave me the strength to pass the test, especially when my brain isn't working so well right now with the baby. I know it was all Him that helped me and I am thankful for that.

Half Way!!

I can't believe that I am 20 weeks!! Going through these 20 weeks seems to have gone by slow, but looking back, it almost seems fast. I hope these next 20 weeks goes by fast too, but who knows. I have been told that it is uphill from here. I am not looking forward to the last 3 months of the pregnancy just to becoming big and who knows what else might happen. I am glad that I am feeling better than my first trimester, but I hope that I continue to feel better. I am trying to do everything I can to avoid being sick. It has not been fun.

I offically have to wear maternity clothes now. It is like my stomach just popped out :) I wish being pregnant was more attractive, but it has its benefits ;) I am finally being able to feel him move and it is the coolest thing ever! The only thing is he moves all the time! One funny thing that did happen the other day was Tyler came to lay down with me on the couch and he put his head on my stomach (next to it). Within one minute, he started to move. The baby sure knows his father :) I just thought it was funny, but cute at the same time.

We did find a great deal on a crib, changing table, and dresser at Walmart about a week ago. It is all matching and very cute! We did have to put it all together, but Tyler loves to do that stuff. He had it all together that night we bought it. We have it all in the baby room and it is making me more excited to have this baby. We are both excited to meet our little one. We just have to wait another 20 weeks :)
